Since you are not supposed to wear white after Labor Day, I squeezed one more time I can wear my favorite white skinny jeans. I got them for free at Kohl's. Yes, for free. They were exactly $10 on the clearance rack and I had a coupon for $10 off any purchase - no minimum. Of course I got the jeans!

In Bloom

I always feel special when I wear this floral dress from Burlington. Its shape just makes me feel so feminine! I used to wear it to special occasions only, but every day can be a special occasion, right? Especially if they are unplanned occasions. I may have more work meetings this month and travel to visit clients all over the town (or two) so I want to be ready for a last-minute change of plans and look presentable.

Vogue Loves Redheads

I used to be a huge Vogue fan, but ever since the Kim-Kardashian-on-the-cover snafu, not so much. But this month I may do an exception and purchase an issue after all! Turns out, Vogue loves redheads and dedicate them a whole fashion spread. It's called The Best Redheads, and it features famous stars who are known for their crimson locks, natural or dyed.

You can see Julianne Moore pose with her daughter Liv, who is only 12 and whose sweater and skirt I really, really want. Apparently the sequined tartan skirt and wool sweater are by Yves Saint Laurent, so I will put them on my Goodwill wish list.

Next is Karen Elson, who channels her inner Greek goddess in a nude Lanvin silk-satin blouse and skirt and I could swear I've seen similar renaissance paintings. Do you see what I mean?

The lineup is completed by actresses Jessica Chastain, Amy Adams and supermodels Lily Cole. So tell me, did you read Vogue yet? What do you think about the Redhead fashion spread?

Goodwill sale is coming up!

Mark you calendars, because Goodwill in San Joaquin Valley will have a sale! I love Goodwill's one-dollar sale, where everything in the entire store is a dollar. I have many dollar items that I love and I can't believe my luck I was able to score such a bargain. I was told that the one-dollar sales are a thing of the past, but the company is still going to hold sale events. Such as the one coming on Aug. 16 and 17. 

Because Goodwill is celebrating the opening of their new Turlock location at 677 N. Golden State Blvd, all stores will have 30% off all merchandise, excluding new goods, on the third August weekend. The next week you can stills score some goodies, this time for 20% off on Aug. 18-24. Picking out new glasses with Warby Parker

I wear glasses. Not a lot, usually just during my work commute in the morning and when I really need to see something during a work meeting or when I go shopping. I picked my frame after a careful consideration and after almost two years, it's time to upgrade. 

When I was a child, my parents somehow discovered I can't see properly and ever since I was 8 or 9, I was wearing glasses. My sight was getting worse and worse and by the time I was 14, my glasses were THICK! Of course I refused to wear them and I switched to contact lenses. Imagine the relief when I could cross off glasses out of my list of insecurities when growing up. When I was 21, I opted for a lasik surgery and I could see like a hawk for a couple of years.

However, the surgery didn't last forever and I had to start wearing glasses again last year, even though my dioptres are way less than before. And of course, now I treat my glasses like the proper fashion accessories. 

I noticed a lot of redheads tend to gravitate towards thick black rims hoping their red hair will be more noticeable - or the rims will be more noticeable in the mass of their red hair? Who knows. I could never find the right pair for my face, and honestly, I almost gave up looking. Because I know I will never look like this. 

I would probably try this pair from Warby Parker, however. The dark frame gets lighter on the bottom, similar to my current bronze frame that I'm sporting.

But as a Decided Redhead I decided to go for color. My current frame is bronze and I was also considering a pink, red, green and a blue pair. Just look at Christina Hendricks, isn't she gorgeous in her shimmery green-bronze frame reflecting light from her shiny red hair? Pure beauty. 

Look at this light blue pair from Warby Parker. Wouldn't it look great on Christina, or any other ginger? I would love to see them on a Redhead with a face full of freckles.

The closest location to me is in LA, so I may be lusting over these two pairs for a while. After reading about their amazing customer service I believe the wait will be worthwhile.
