High fashion, low prices: Eyelet dresses

One of the 2013 fashion trends I am really excited about are the eyelet dresses. I already got one last year, a pretty white number, that I wore quite a lot. I didn't see many of the in the stores and I got really giddy when I saw the spring fashion in stores - all of them featuring one or more eyelet dresses!

It started with high fashion shows in 2011, Louis Vuitton RTW for Spring 2012 was full of eyelet dresses, skirts, pants and bags. It slowly found it's way to the stores in mall and finally, this year, to ALL stores. Here is the original idea courtesy of Marc Jacobs, creative director of Louis Vuitton.

Gorgeous, right? But yeah, I don't have $2000 to spend on it either.

So here is a cheaper option for less than one tenth of the price. This cute pink number at JCrew is $188. They have another one with straps, just in case strapless in not your style. Bebe has a fitted white eyelet dress for $149 and Kohl's has a gorgeous crochet eyelet shift dress for $120.
But it's still too much. I want something for under $50. Or under $20. I like high fashion, but with low prices. So what are my options?

Eyelet dresses under $50

Kohl's

I love love love this Lily Rose Eyelet dress (on sale for $45.99) from Kohl's. Corset top, polka dot eyelets and the white/green fabric is simply adorable.

Another, slightly more daring pick is City Triangles Eyelet dress (on sale for $45.99) with a cutout in the back!

Eyelet dresses under $40

JCP

JCPenney has a LOT of eyelet dresses, almost all of them under $40! This one one is a Belted Keyhole Eyelet dress for $40, totally adorable and affordable. It comes only in white, however. For a little pop of color head over to the peach Cap-Sleeve Eyelet Dress with bow belt for $28 or a coral Strapless Eyelet dress for $30.

The emerald Liz Claiborne sheath is my favorite. It also comes in white, but redheads will most definitely look the best in green! I love the classic shape with the modern twist.

Forever 21

Cute, simple, belted, pleated, sleeveless - perfect summer dress from Forever 21 JUST under $30. In cream color. Totally looks like the one I already have from last year.

Old Navy

Old Navy honestly has the best selection of eyelet dresses EVER. They come with straps or strapless, in 10 different colors (white, black, blue, navy blue, green, yellow, pink, teal, orange and red) and they are all super adorable and cheap! Eyelet dresses under $20

Walmart

Walmart fashion is sometimes pretty on spot and this George belted sheath is one of the great examples. For only $17.94 you can get in all three colors (black with yellow belt, red with black belt and white with red belt) and wear them all year long.
