I know I may be late on this Pantone Color of the Year 2014 business, but this is the first day of 2014 and therefore Orchid starts its reign as the official beauty and fashion color of the year. And I can't be more excited about this Redhead friendly color! After last year's Emerald, Orchid seems to be another color that will flatter natural gingers and decided Redheads everywhere.
"Radiant Orchid reaches across the color wheel to intrigue the eye and spark the imagination," said Leatrice Eiseman, executive director of the Pantone Color Institute. "An invitation to innovation, Radiant Orchid encourages expanded creativity and originality."

Radiant Orchid is described as "an enchanting harmony of fuchsia, purple and pink undertones." Pantone recommends this modern and surprisingly versatile shade for almost everyone, as Radiant Orchid enlivens the skin and blending both cool and warm undertones, so nobody is left behind. Also, "this multifaceted hue is seductive when combined with red."
So yay for Radiant Orchid! We already know it goes well with red hair and here is a couple of pic just to prove the point. And give us more courage to reach for this spring and airy shade when we see it everywhere in stores in a couple of months.
