Dress for less: A wrap dress

A wrap dress is a must for every woman working in an office. The staple of business casual dress code, you can style it either more business for a meeting or more casual for a stress-free day in the office. I personally own several of them and they always make me feel polished and put together in a snap, you basically put your arms through your sleeves, tie the knot at your waist and you are ready to tackle the spreadsheets and presentations!
I am pretty sure that Diane von Furstenberg didn't imagine her invention will be so popular. If you would like a wrap dress that will be timeless, will serve you for a long time and you plan to wear at least once a week, go for it and get a real DVF wrap dress, preferably in a solid color.
THIS Diane von Furstenberg wrap dress is slightly shorter than the original version and it's sold for $325. Good investment piece if you plan to wear it a lot or work with important clients. But if you don't get out of the office a lot, or you work with small children, the next option may be more for you.
Nordstrom sells this Ivy & Blu dress for $82.80 and I must say I like the color and length much more. Another reasonably priced is this teal dress from Banana Republic. The Gemma Wrap Dress is $59.90 and comes in seven different colors. As far as I can tell, the quality should be good, and if you pair it with a coupon, you can get a nice wrap dress for under $50 from here.

Finally, the lowest priced dress is (I would say totally the same dress as it's sister company BR sells) a nice blue number from Old Navy. The long-sleeved wrap dress is only $18, so get the Old Navy's gem while supplies last, at this price and versatility it will be gone soon!
Do you already own a wrap dress? What do you love the most about it?

Amy Childs wears gorgeous floral dress I want

Amy Childs is one of the most gorgeous redheads I know. Her hair is always vibrant and gorgeous, her makeup is always spot on and her clothes are colorful and very appropriate to her bubbly personality. I love that she doesn't shy away from color and rarely falls for the trap of black-head-to-toe clothing that many redheads mistakenly think makes their hair pop.

Amy Childs in gorgeous floral bodycon dress.
Just a couple of days ago I saw an article on Daily Mail about Amy wearing this gorgeous floral bodycon dress. I mean, look at the colors! Look at the print! Look at the cut! As a slightly curvy woman myself, I can definitely appreciate a dress with ruching over my problem part - my stomach - yet perfectly fitted in all the right spots. Amy has great style and I love how she paired the colorful dress with yellow and blue.
This floral bodycon dress is called Maria by Amy Childs.
So my question was - where is this gorgeous dress from and how can I transform into Amy Childs? My red hair is almost the same shade, even though shorter, and the dress will perfectly fit my lifestyle. I looked all over internet to find the source and then finally looked at Amy's Instagram and there it was! And the maker is no other than Miss Amy herself. The gorgeous number is called Maria Dress and it's one of Amy's own designs, available through her official website

"Be bold this season with Maria, our bold printed midi dress. With statement cut out shoulder detail and ruched waist detail, this midi dress flatters the figure whilst the bold bright print is sure to wow."

I agree, Amy, I agree. And, the dress comes in five different sizes, from 8 to 16. Yay, finally a dress that hugs your curves that comes in a sizes that majority of curvy girls come in, no size 0 allowed. Too bad the dress is available only in Europe since the website doesn't ship to USA. I would totally ordered it since the price is just under $90. Very justifiable for special occasions, don't you think?

Week in outfits: July 21 - 26

Another week is behind us, this time I wore a dress and skirt - pretty impressive considering I'm biking to work every day! I am slowly learning about what fabrics are more appropriate for commuting to work on a bike and I must say this week's winner is the dress. The fabric is heavy enough to not randomly fly up and the cut is great for biking.

Dress for less: Statement necklace

How much fashion jewelry can you buy for $10? A bracelet? A tiny ring? A whole statement necklace? If you shop at Walmart, your money will stretch far, so far in fact, that you can create a whole outfit with one of their new amazing statement necklaces.
Last time Walmart surprised me with their bubble necklaces, mint and pink accessories and a whole wall of cute bracelets in many different colors. This time I almost tripped over my feet when I saw their display of gorgeous statement necklaces - 10 dollars each!
They are nice and big, some of them even heavy signaling that they are using real stones. I didn't know where to look first, at the multicolored ones or the bib ones?
This one is one of my favorites, it has the right amount of color and sparkle to go with absolutely anything.
Doesn't matter if you like opulence, neons, mint or blue, Walmart has a necklace for anyone.
So dramatic!
Simply gorgeous!

Tell me, do you shop at Walmart for clothes and jewelry? Because I definitely do!

It's red, it's chopped!

Fortunately, it's not mine. Kristen Stewart had been a redhead for a while now and even though she is sporting major roots (oops!), her new hair color looks lively and refreshing on her.
Doesn't she look like young Meg Ryan?
Same with Alyson Hannigan. She recently returned back to her natural red and chopped a couple of inches into this stylish bob.
I have been doing the opposite - growing my hair longer and longer. I would like to have long hair at least once in my life -  I always sported shorter cuts or an A-line in the past years. This is how long is my hair now:
I have a hair appointment a week from now and I'm going to get it styled and shaped a little. Can't wait!
Have a great Monday!

My ThredUp Experience

I finally joined ThredUp! My experience has been nothing but positive. At first I ordered a bag to clean out my closet a little bit, I tried Poshmark but that was too much pressure for me - I don't want to interact with other people just to attract them to sell them something. I want to list my items and be done. And ThredUp is just that. I sent them my old H&M skirts and slacks I don't fit anymore, Old Navy, GAP and other still pretty fashionable clothes. And I made $27!
Then I went ahead and ordered some gently used items. Since I like layering and I have tons of blouses and they are pretty easy to come by in my local Goodwill, unlike sweaters, I decided to go solely for sweaters, cardigans and wraps.

My items arrived in a pretty polka dot box.
The presentation was awesome - everything was neatly wrapped in a tissue paper with bright and cheerful green stickers. If I was hesitant about ThredUp, this totally changed my mind. I love it!
I ordered nine sweaters and I paid $5.51. Almost all of them were $4.99 and I made sure I will have at least $50 in my shopping basket so I will qualify for free shipping. I used my store credit and then I used an additional coupon for 40% off.
I got two Old Navy cardigans, one Forever 21 and one Charter Club sweater plus four Merona sweaters and one Limited sweater (not pictured) .
Every sweater had a description matching the actual condition, so if there are any flaws, I knew about them before I made the purchase. I loved that every item was folded and had a ThredUp tag attached. I see the level of care and customer service and I'm impressed! My ThredUp experience is a great one and I will definitely shop there in the future (or very soon!).

Would you like to save money and shop for almost new clothes at ThredUp?
Follow this link and get $10 store credit right away.

It's easy as that! Happy shopping!
