Shop Till You Drop

I celebrated Father's Day quite unusually - shopping all by myself. After we took my father-in-law to breakfast, my husband decided to have an all-men day at the movies. So I went shopping.
My town has a beautiful mall looking like a little European town. It has streets and buildings and fountains and flowers... And it's empty. There are literally five stores in the whole mall - Banana Republic Outlet, Vans, Guess, Styles For Less and JCPenney. I wish we had H&M, Charlotte Russe, J. Crew, Old Navy or something similar, oh well.
First I went to JCPenney. I had two coupons for $10 off purchase of $25 and I was on a lookout for something office appropriate. Do you see the structured pants and blouses?
I already have so many orange things that I decided to pass on this shirt. I liked the cut and the material and if I could find it in fuchsia, I would get it. Pants were too tight.
These pants fit good and the color is gorgeous, but the material felt too cheap and plastic. They are Worthington Ankle Pants and they made me feel like I'm wearing leggings from Walmart. Fail. On the other hand, the shirt was perfect fit and color and of course I got it :) You can find it HERE
I also got this gorgeous dress for $23.99 and I added a scarf so I could use my coupon. My final price was something around $18 for the dress. Yay!
Finally, I tried on this gorgeous coral dress which had only one flaw - it was over $45. I would never pay this much for a summer dress. It's called City Triangles Sleeveless Blouson Dress and I can see on the website that it's on sale this week... Hmmmm....

My next stop was Styles For Less. I always feel slightly depressed when I shop at SFL because I rarely fit their size M or L, and in case of pants I have to get XL.
Fortunately, I only needed Medium in this dress. I liked it, but I am not sure about this whole hi-low trend. I also tried several other dresses (no pictures, sorry). Here is how they look on the website:

Unfortunately, they were not charming enough for me to get them so I left the store with two pairs of sunglasses. At least something, right?

Dress for less: Skirt with sheer panels

Lately skirts with sheer panels have been catching my eye and I'm liking them! I work in a semi-formal office where flip-flops and jeans are acceptable (or at least nobody will report you to HR for wearing them) but sheer panels and cutouts - big no no. However, longer midi skirt covering all bits and pieces with a delicate sheer fabric around the knees? I am sure that will fly where I work :). I found several different skirts at different price points, let's take a look.

This is a midi skirt "TWO BY VINCE CAMUTO" and it's being sold for cool $119.00.

Skirt from ASOS is a little longer, their "Midi Skirt in Ponte with Sheers Panels" is slightly cheaper at $66.69.

Finally, the most affordable version is the Forever 21's "Sheer Paneled Midi Skirt" in white for $17.80. If you are into trends and you think you may not wear the skirt next season, get this one. I definitely will.

Father's Day at Kohl's

It's no secret that I love couponing and I'm always looking for opportunities when I can score something for free or nearly free. That's why I often shop at Kohl's. They not only send me personalized coupons, but they also issue general coupons for customers and the offers can be combined!
Yes, you read it right. I can (and therefore you can) combine coupons and score even sweeter deal on their low sale prices. Because honestly, who buys anything at the full retail price?? Always read the small print on the back of your coupons and know when and how you can use them.
Anyways, from June 1 to June 15th you can get $10 of your men's apparel and accessories and luggage purchase of $30 or more with code DADSDAY10 if you are shopping online or print a shopping pass and bring it to the store. Get the link HERE.
If you received your personal coupon in mail like I did, save it. It lists all the "good" brands like Converse, Adidas, Sony and Rock & Republic. And then head to Kohl's and make a man in your life happy with some carefully selected items for Father's Day. Without breaking the budget, of course. If you save money on clothes, you can splurge on gourmet food, traveling or anything else you desire.

Option 1: 4 polos for $20 (that is a shirt for $5!)
ALL polos at Kohl's are listed for $9.99! That is insane, given that original price on many of them is $30. I bought Travis four polos in a similar sale at Old Navy, and I may buy him more here. He has a mustard yellow one, deep blue, purple and turquoise. I think I will go for green, orange and gray this time! See the selection HERE. Four polos for $9.99 each minus $20 in coupons equals... you do the math :)

Option 2: A nice watch

If he is cool and hip, what about this alien looking lime green watch? The Armitron Resin Digital Watch has a minimalist design and it's water resistant!
Or what about THIS cool Casio Illuminator Silver Tone Databank World Time Analog & Digital Chronograph Watch - Men? It's only $30, so after coupons your final price will be $10 plus tax.

Option 3: A whole outfit under $15
Let's make your husband or dad happy with a brand new coordinated outfit so he doesn't have to worry about what to wear with the new plaid pair of shorts! Pick a polo from option one and then head over HERE and find him a nice pair of shorts for about $20.01 - the bare minimum to reach $30 and use both of your coupons. Since most shorts are $21.99, $23.99 and so on, it won't be that hard.

Good luck!
