Birthday that rocks

I got the bike!!!
I celebrated my birthday and received three majorly amazing gifts, that ROCK!

1. A new bike!

My awesome hubby and my mom bought me a Huffy Nassau blue bike from Target. Now I can be cruising my small town in a nice dress with full skirt, flowers and newspaper in the basket, fresh coffee in my coffee mug in my coffee mug holder, stuff a cat or a puppy or a brown paper bag with two peeking baguettes in my front basket and imagine is 1953 or even 1923... How romantic!

2. Complete collection of Agatha Christie!

Walking through downtown Jackson we found a huge bookstore with used books, magazines, video games and more. They had a cat, coffee and muffin bar and a section with vintage clothes - what more you can  ask for? Maybe a couple of hours (OK, days) to look at all the treasures. Almost done and leaving, my eyes spotted something familiar. Name of my favorite author, Agatha Christie, embossed in silver letters in a back of a black book. Then another. And another. Turns out, the bookstore had the complete work of Agatha Christie on clearance! For a dollar a piece. 

Long story short, now I have 76 detective books bound in black leather on my shelf. I am still missing about five of them, so I can start a hunt to finish my collection.

3. Burlington Coat Factory gift cards worth $75 from my in-laws and brother-in-law. 
Thanks guys! :) I already have plans on what to get! The best part is, our local Burlington is just steps away from my work, so I can go and shop every day.

Redheads from VMA 2013

I am pleased to see more and more redheads in magazines and newspapers. I was watching the MTV VMA's last night and a couple of fiery headed ladies made an appearance. What do we think about their style?

You know it's a sad day when Snooki is the best dressed on the red carpet... But in the sea of underdressed Miley Cyruses, Lady Gagas and other creatures a simple embellished black frock just looks the best. Plus her red hair is cute! 

 I must admit I don't know who Carly Aquilino is, but I LOVE her hair, and her shoes, and the pop of blue with her white dress! She is definitely a person to watch, especially because her hair is super bright, so I am intrigued to see how she styles it.

Mary had a little lamb... and a gorgeous dress... and gorgeous red hair... Singer Mary Lambert was positively glowing in her sparkly gown and with a VMA award in her hand. At first I thought I was looking at Tess Munster, they practically look the same! Anyways, great dress for her color type AND her curves. 

PS: I know this has nothing to do with red hair, but isn't it funny how Grimes and 2Chainz wear the same Versace pants? LOL.

CDA San Francisco 2013

What to wear, what to wear?

When it comes to clothing, I must admit I am a little obsessive. Maybe more than just a little... As a part of my new PR job I traveled to San Francisco this past weekend to attend California Dental Association exhibition in the Moscone center. It was awesome! I had so much fun attending classes and looking at the many different products that help people smile... but that was all after I decided what to wear.
I live in a small Central Valley town when the temperatures are reaching mid nineties even in late August. San Francisco, on the other hand, is only ninety minutes away, but thirty degrees cooler. I decided I want to wear boots (probably my only chance to wear boots before October) and I had to plan my outfit around them.
I also wanted to be comfy, because I was taking BART and was supposed to arrive in SF before six in the morning, so I needed an outfit that I can go to Starbucks and lounge for couple of hours, but also look presentable at the classes. So no skirt. And because my office has a business casual dress code, I decided to join the casual Friday crowd and wear skinny jeans.

Freebie time! I receive a ZOOM! home whitening kit. Now I  just need someone in my office to take my impressions :)

And another freebie! I seriously love my new toothbrush I got at this booth!

I must admit I got it right! The weather was totally as I expected and I was very pleased with my clothes. I saw several very overdressed ladies... and several very underdressed ladies... oops...

Pink Heels

I left a pair of pink heels (Fioni from Payless) at work under my desk and tried to match my outfits so I can wear them every day. It was not as hard as it seemed.

Thrifted pencil skirt from Goodwill (originally Merona), Old Navy tank top and Forever 21 throw. 

I need to get a couple of bauble bib necklaces and I will be all set and accesoried to go!!
